The National Democratic Movement has expressed alarm and disappointment in the poor leadership and mismanagement displayed by the Jamaican Government in its handling of the potential threat to Jamaica by the Ebola virus.
The NDM is upset with how slowly the Portia Simpson Miller administration acted in placing a ban on travellers/flights from the Ebola affected countries in Africa, from coming into Jamaica and that, after other Caribbean islands had announced a ban on travellers from those countries, the Government of Jamaica was still tardy in its reaction – imposing a ban only after exposing Jamaicans to the deadly Ebola disease, with the entry of two Liberian travellers into the island occurred earlier this week.
The NDM said the government, after failing the people of Jamaica in its mishandling of the Chikungunya epidemic has now bungled the potential exposure of the Jamaican people to something even deadlier.
