The National Democratic Movement (NDM) is not surprised or unhappy that the Court of Appeal has supported the decision of the Supreme Court. The ruling of the Court has now placed the Leader of the Opposition, Andrew Holness, in a most untenable situation. The NDM is calling on Mr Holness to do the honourable thing.
Mr Holness occupies a most important position in the constitution of Jamaica as Leader of the Opposition. His continued presence in that position will bring that position into disrepute.
As the Leader of the Jamaica Labour Party, his members must see that he is damaged and call on him to vacate.
It is very important that people who occupy constitutional positions in Jamaica are always viewed in the utmost of integrity, an example to emulate and for young people to look up to. Mr Holness must now realize that his actions have not been anything to be proud of.
