The National Democratic Movement notes with great interest the unusual news release issued by eight [8] interest groups in an attempt to thwart the peoples’ participation in a highly significant decision of utmost important and concern to them.

The PNP for years has been trying to remove the Privy Council for the equally foreign Caribbean Court of Justice.

Since 1995 the NDM has urged successive JLPNP governments to take the issue to the people.

The ideal opportunity presents itself now since another general election is due in 14 months {January 2017}.

The NDM is asking the government to trust the people and place a separate ballot at the next General Election with one question.

Do YOU agree that Jamaica should leave the Privy Council for the Caribbean Court of Justice? – Yes [ ] No [ ]
Or
Do YOU agree that Jamaica should adopt the Caribbean Court of Justice as its final Court of Appeal? Yes [ ]; No [ ]

The peoples’ answer to this question will put to rest decades of arguments and disunity and unite all Jamaicans who will believe in what they have participated in: a healthy democratic decision which will affect their Justice henceforth.

The NDM is reminding the government that there can be ‘No Peace without Justice’
