The National Democratic Movement has expressed sadness and regrets at the passing of former NAJ and Senate President Mrs. Syringa Marshall Burnett, who died last night/early this morning.
The NDM hailed Mrs. Marshall-Burnett as a true patriot, icon and pioneering nurse who served her profession and country tirelessly, as a nurse, as President of the Nurses Association of Jamaica and as the longest serving President of the Senate, who will be sadly missed.
The movement extended condolences to her husband Mr. Jasper Burnett and family, as well as the United Church congregations of which the late Senator was an integral part.
